Jiangsu Province held an online job fair on December 22 to attract graduating students from top universities as well as postdoctoral researchers.
The economic powerhouse provides jobs for over 100,000 new graduates, hitting a record high. The event connected Jiangsu’s employers with students in 118 universities, research institutes and overseas Chinese student groups.
The province’s 680 enterprises and institutions as well as 855 postdoctoral stations are offering a total of 5,887 postdoctoral jobs, mostly in the fields of advanced manufacturing and industrial chains. About 85% of Jiangsu winners on the list of China Top 500 Private Enterprises as well as 75% of Jiangsu’s top 100 listed companies have job openings.
Due to the pandemic, this was the first time for the province to announce its recruitment plans online, attracting the participation of nearly 10,000 students and teachers and a total of over 400,000 views. The event also included a WeChat applet for people to search for job information easily and quickly.
Dai Yifei, a doctoral student from Tsinghua University School of Medicine, has decided to work in Jiangbei New Area in Nanjing. He said Jiangsu attracts him for the booming biomedical industry and top innovation capacity. The urban development, career prospect, good education for children and other factors all make Jiangsu an ideal place to work and live, said Dai.
